Oakland Plantation is an 1820's farm along the Cane River. With over 3000 acres it was a significant influence on the area. Also used in John Wayne's The Horse Soldiers.
Ken, the last generation to be born in the house, still has lots of stories to tell when he can catch a tourist. If you meet him ask about the time he beat General Patton at war games.
